The Treyford

Description
A Rustic Oak veneered console table with angled legs.

Treyford is a hamlet in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. The Devil's Jumps are a group of five large bell barrows situated south-east of Treyford. The Devil's Jumps are considered to be the best preserved Bronze Age barrow group in Sussex. According to the story, the god Thor used to sit on Treyford Hill. One day the Devil saw the five barrows and started to jump from one to the next in order to amuse himself. This enraged Thor, who threw a stone at the Devil, causing him to flee.
Materials used
Rustic Oak veneer on moisture resistant boards formed this console.

Hollow core to the legs to help keep the weight down.
Craft notes
The shelf is notched into the side of the legs which adds a lovely detail to the piece.

Finished in a light stain to highlight the natural figuring and knots of the oak veneer.
